As you may have noticed, My Video Downloader HD is no longer working when trying to download videos from YouTube. In the past we were able to fix our application to work when YouTube updates how they handle video files. This time they have done a great job at hiding the videos from our service. We are working to resolve this issue. This is taking lots longer than usual as this is a side project (that makes no money after server costs). So it is hard to give it too much attention.

I will be working on this in my spare time over the next few weeks. If I can get it fixed you will see an update. If I am not able to fix it, I will forever retire this program. Which is sad as I have spent countless hours getting this application to be one of the best downloaders available.

Downloading Videos

The file downloaded from these sites are flash video files known as FLV files and are stored on your computer. Once these files are downloaded to your computer they are converted to your desired video format.

Naming the File

When the video is downloaded from these sites they have a weird naming convention such as "7108facr9", My Video Downloader HD will rename this file to a more usable name. We pull the "Title" from these website AND allow you rename the file to whatever you want. This is very helpful as you may not want to use the same title but something close.

Encoding / Conversion of the Video File

If you don't want to watch your video in a FLV player on your computer you will want to convert the file to a different format. My Video Downloader HD includes a full Converting system (at no extra charge!) in an All-In-One Process or Standalone Process.

You will be able to encode the file to HD, iPod, iPhone, PSP, Zune, DVD, VCD, SVCD, AVI - XviD, MKV, MP4, WMV, MP3, 3gp, Flash (swf) and Quicktime. Our encoder allows you to change the quality settings as well. This allows you to have control over the file sizes, lower quality = smaller file size and higher quality = larger file size.
